📢 Temporary Road Closure – Norwich Road, Chedgrave
8 December 2025 (with potential extension to 19 January 2026)
Norfolk County Council has given notice of a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order affecting C554 Norwich Road, from its junction with Rectory Lane and extending 160 metres westwards.
This closure is required to allow Openreach to carry out cabling and pole-testing works.
⛔ Road Closure Details
Date: Expected between 09:30 and 15:30 on Monday 8 December 2025
Possible extended period: Up to 19 January 2026, if works are not completed as planned
Access: Pedestrian access maintained
Vehicular access: Allowed for residents with a final destination within the closure area, where signs indicate access is permitted
🔀 Diversion Route
Traffic will be diverted via:
Norwich Road → A146 Loddon Bypass → Beccles Road → High Street → Church Plain → Bridge Street
(Chedgrave, Loddon, Sisland)
ℹ Additional Information
The Order will automatically revoke once works are complete, or on 19 January 2026, whichever comes first.
If required, the restriction could legally remain in place for up to 18 months.
Contravention of the closure carries a maximum £1,000 fine and/or licence endorsement.
If the start date changes, updated signage will be displayed on site.
