Neighbourhood Watch
Norfolk Police and Norfolk Neighbourhood Watch are currently working on a project to give Neighbourhood Watch a relaunch across the county, to increase the number of Neighbourhood Watch schemes and members, as well as strengthen the relationship between Neighbourhood Watch schemes and their local policing teams.

Neighbourhood Watch has evolved over the years and believes in the power of neighbours working together to build safer, vibrant and inclusive communities, help prevent crime and make a positive, sustainable difference in communities.
Local Neighbourhood Watch schemes work in a variety of ways that reflect the needs of the local community. This includes: sharing crime prevention advice and information; running awareness campaigns; holding social events and awards for local people and businesses; leading community projects, such as litter picks, a community café, flood defence response, presentations in schools and work with young people and children and community messaging with the police.
Research shows that up to 20% of crime and anti-social behaviour can be reduced with an active and well signed scheme in place.

Norfolk Police and Norfolk Neighbourhood Watch are reaching out to communities to ask that they consider joining or setting up a scheme in their area as well as searching for area co-ordinators, who are volunteers that would be willing to go out to meetings and community events local to them to promote Neighbourhood Watch and it’s benefits.
