Remembrance Service - Sunday 08 November 2020
Loddon Parish Council and Royal British Legion have received confirmation that despite Covid -19 lockdown the open-air Act of Worship and wreath laying service can still go ahead.
A Risk Assessment has been completed and there will be volunteers to ensure that the service is run safely. Attendees will be asked to complete either a track and trace register or scan the event's QR code. People will be reminded to stay socially distanced at all times.
Church Plain car park will be closed from 09.30am - 11.30am (except for permit holders and disabled blue badge holders).
The approximate timings are as follows:
🌺10.45am - Meet at Church Plain car park
🌺10.53am - Rev'd David Owen will open the service
🌺10.55am - Rev'd Ros Hoffman will read the names of the fallen
🌺10.58am - Exhortation and the Last Post
🌺11.00am - Two minutes silence
🌺11.02am - Reveille - Kohima Epitaph followed by the laying of the wreaths
🌺11.20am - Service ends
There will be a piper located at The Terrace playing laments leading up the start of the proceedings and during the wreath laying.
