Norfolk Police highlight dangers of drink/drug driving

22 August 2023

2023, Drink Driving

A week-long national initiative starts today (Monday 21st August) aiming to highlight the dangers of drink and drug-driving.

Supported by all police forces, officers from the Norfolk and Suffolk joint Roads and Armed Policing Team (RAPT) and the Road Casualty Reduction Team will be targeting dangerous drivers in a bid to reduce fatal and serious road traffic collisions.

A number of tactics including unmarked cars, police motorcycles and gathered intelligence will be used to detect offenders during the campaign.

Officers will be focusing on drivers who are committing moving traffic offences, those who are suspected of drink/drug driving through spontaneous calls from the public and patrolling premises/locations and areas where intelligence suggests drivers are offending.
