7 October 2025

Sharing on behalf of Norfolk County Council:

Loddon, C203 George Lane – Pedestrian Safety Improvement Works

Norfolk County Council will shortly be carrying out improvement works on C203 George Lane, Loddon, between the Village Hall and the sports fields. These works are designed to make it safer for pedestrians, particularly children, travelling between the two sites.

The works are scheduled to take place from Monday 20 October to Friday 24 October 2025.

What we are doing:

• Constructing a new footway linking the Village Hall car park to the existing crossing point on George Lane.

• Installing pedestrian guardrail along the road edge for improved safety.

• Installing new bollards in the verge.

• Adjusting kerb lines and resurfacing as required.

• Regrading the verge and blocking informal gaps in the hedge line.

To allow the works to be carried out safely, temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place on George Lane for the duration of the works. Please allow extra time for journeys during this period. Access to the Village Hall and sports fields will be maintained at all times.

The County Council thanks people for their patience while this pedestrian safety improvement work is carried out.

The work which will cost £14,000 and will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.
