🌟 2025: A Year of Progress for Loddon 🌟

As the year draws to a close, we’re proud to look back and celebrate what’s been achieved for our town in 2025. Thanks to strong partnerships, dedicated volunteers, councillors and staff, it’s been a year of real impact across Loddon.

✨Highlights from 2025 ✨

🌳Greener & Cleaner Loddon
• Ā£10,000 Conservation Fund grant secured for Warren Hills Woodland
• New community orchard planted and Biodiversity Warden appointed
• Big Litter Pick in April and river debris removed
• Love Loddon flower towers and containers brightening the town

🚦Safer Streets & Better Transport
• Traffic Review Working Party established
• New and upgraded bus stops on Church Plain, and additional stops on the A146 and Beccles Road
• High Bungay Road TRO completed
• SAM2 speed device rotated regularly to deter speeding
• New grit bins
• Formal registration of High Street – Mill Road footpath

šŸ› Planning & Improved Community Facilities
• The Chet Neighbourhood Plan continued to play a vital role, being actively used to ensure planning applications meet local needs and reflect the community’s priorities.

• Library Annexe toilets, kitchen and shower fully refurbished
• Fire safety and Legionella risk assessments completed
• Staithe toilets improved, with ownership transfer agreed
• New signage and measures to prevent vandalism
• New basket swing and replacement matting for Kitten's Lane Play Area

ā¤ļøSupporting Our Community
• Community Larder now supporting 59 households across the Chet Valley
• Small grants awarded to local charities, churches and community groups
• Allotments fully let and well managed

šŸŽ„Events, Heritage & Civic Pride
• Historic blue plaques installed
• Christmas lights and new Staithe Christmas tree
• Remembrance Sunday and VE Day events delivered
• Freedom of Loddon Award presented to Carol Webb
• Memorial bench installed for Cllr Colin Binfield
• Cllr Julie Applebly shortlisted as Councillor of the year

⚽Sport, Access & Partnerships
• New LED tennis court floodlights
• New pedestrian access to Jubilee Hall

• Licence agreed for the Tennis Club to use the Jubilee Hall Changing Rooms and toilets

• Weekend parking agreement at Hobart High School to relive safety and parking issues on George Lane
• Donation of defibrillator and installation at the Staithe
