Get elected and get involved!
Local elections are in May, and all current LPC Councillors will stand down. This is your opportunity to get elected, get involved and become a Parish Councillor!
The Council is involved in many different local projects, such as the community larder, Christmas lights, events, local facilities and open spaces.
Nominations open on the 17 March 2023, close at 4.00pm on the 4 April 2023, and you will have an opportunity to vote for your local representative on the 4 May 2023 (don’t forget to bring ID).
Completed nominations for the district and parish/town must be hand delivered to the Horizon Centre (annex), Peachman Way, Norwich, NR7 0WF, between the hours of 9am and 4pm on any working day (Monday-Friday) before the deadline.

Am I eligible to be a Parish Councillor?
To stand for election on a parish council, you must:
· be a UK or commonwealth citizen, or;
· be a citizen of the Republic of Ireland,
· be a least 18 years old.
To be eligible to stand for an election for a particular parish, you must:
· be an elector of the parish, or;
· for the whole of the previous 12 months have occupied (as owner or tenant) land or other premises in the parish, or;
· during the previous 12 months have worked in the parish (as your principal or only place of work), or;
· for the whole of the previous 12 months lived in the parish or within three miles of the parish boundary.
Voter ID
From 4 May 2023, voters in England will need to show photo ID to vote at polling. If you don't have accepted photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document, which is known as a Voter Authority Certificate.
